Why did my SSD fail without warning?

Solid-state failures can come from the controller, firmware, translation tables, power circuitry, NAND wear, connector damage, or corruption. Unlike a mechanical drive, an SSD may simply disappear when one of these layers fails.

Can deleted files be recovered from an SSD?

Sometimes, but TRIM and garbage collection can quickly make deleted flash pages unavailable. Power the system off and avoid installing or running recovery tools on that SSD.

Can encrypted SSD data be recovered?

Recovery may be possible when the encrypted sectors and required keys or credentials remain available. Data recovery does not bypass valid encryption; keep BitLocker recovery keys, FileVault credentials, and original hardware information.

Should I keep restarting an SSD that appears sometimes?

No. Intermittent detection often signals an unstable controller, firmware, power, or NAND condition. Repeated boots may reduce the time available to create a stable image.
