Process & pricing

A recovery plan you can understand before work begins.

Pricing follows the failure—not just the device size. The work may involve logical analysis, controlled imaging, board-level stabilization, donor components, firmware work, array reconstruction, or advanced lab handling.

The recovery sequence

Six documented decision points.

01

Case intake

We record the device, incident, symptoms, previous attempts, encryption, service mode, and data priorities.

02

Risk evaluation

The device condition determines what can be checked safely and whether additional power or access would add risk.

03

Recovery proposal

You receive the recommended method, service level, timing, price, and any separate parts or return-media costs.

04

Customer approval

Recovery begins only after the scope is approved. If the plan changes materially, we pause and communicate again.

05

Recovery & verification

Work is performed against an image or controlled copy whenever the case permits, then requested files are checked.

06

Secure return

Recovered data is prepared on suitable media, and mail-in devices are returned using an agreed shipping method.

What changes the price

The factors behind a recovery quote.

01

Failure type

Logical corruption differs from unstable media, controller failure, mechanical damage, or a failed multi-disk array.

02

Parts and tools

Donor components, compatible electronics, specialized adapters, and advanced lab work can change the case scope.

03

Urgency

Standard, priority, and emergency service require different scheduling and operational commitment.

04

Complexity

Encryption, RAID geometry, virtual machines, databases, prior rebuilds, and overwritten data add analysis time.

Service levels

Choose urgency based on impact.

STANDARD

Planned recovery

Best for personal or business cases that can follow the normal evaluation and recovery queue.

PRIORITY

Time-sensitive recovery

For important files, active projects, and business needs that justify expedited scheduling.

EMERGENCY

Operational interruption

For servers, arrays, workstations, or systems where downtime has immediate business impact.

A clear next step

A useful quote requires a real case history.

Tell us what happened and what has already been attempted. Withholding a drop, rebuild, repair, or software scan can change the safest method.

Questions, answered

What customers ask before starting.

Can you quote data recovery by phone?

We can explain likely categories and next steps, but a responsible final quote generally requires evaluating the actual device and incident history.

Are there separate costs besides the recovery fee?

Return shipping, replacement media, donor parts, advanced partner work, and other approved case expenses may be separate. They are disclosed before authorization when applicable.

Do I pay if the requested data is not recovered?

Eligible cases are covered by the no-data, no-recovery-fee policy. Exceptions and separate expenses are defined in the service terms and confirmed before work.

Can I decline after evaluation?

Yes. If you do not approve the recovery plan, we follow the agreed return, holding, or disposition instructions and any applicable evaluation or shipping terms.
